How I like to see Florida and Travel in Florida!

I think Florida is like a East Coast..West Coast!  Only flatter.  I have been in and out of Orlando, Kissimee, Tampa, St. Petersberg, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and the Keys.

What I like about Orlando..Kissimee!

1.  Parks and rides.  Like Disney World, MGM, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach water park.  Universal Park.

Soarin’ At Disney, Rockin’ Roller Coaster at MGM,  Phenomenal animals at animal kingdom, One of the top three water parks in the World Blizzard beach, and don’t miss “the Hulk” in Universal.

2.  Cape Canaveral is outside of Orlando.

3.  Just outside of Universal is “Mid Evil Times” a jousting place!

4.  Down the road from The Jousting is an “upside down building“..I saw it but have not been inside.  The next time I go to Orlando I will make sure I make time.

Tampa!  Lots of water great for drive by…but not my favorite beach.

St Petersberg!   Same..but we did swim with the Dolphins there.

Fort LauderDale..as you get further south the water is warmer and beaches are better.  Florida water is not quite as good as Caribbean Island waters but is made of the same stuff.

Miami Beach..Doral Beach and golf Course, and of course our favorite South Beach..

Everybody always says how great the Keys are…but I saw mostly older people and Adults when I went there.  So family vacations probably should be up Near Miami or Fort Lauderdale or Orlando.

My Favorite Places to stay Are Marriotts!….of any kind.  You can save some money and book hotels not on the beach.  There are lots of Marriotts close but not right on the Beach.  But if you want to be on the beach the Doral and the Southbeach Marriotts are the best!

Security for the 1st Time Travellor!.. Or Others!

If you’re thinking of traveling soon and have never traveled before let me offer a few suggestions that may assure you of a trip of a lifetime not “the vacation from Hell!

1.     Call a travel Agent!  Travel agents can usually get you better deals that you can get else where and they provide a safety net for you.  Because a travel agent has direct access she is invaluable.  On September 11Th, All planes within the United States air space were grounded after the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  That means all the plans landed at the closest airport.  After the planes had restarted flying I had a call from a man and his wife that had landed in Salt Lake City (which was not their destination).  Seems they had to go to the airport to get the ticket changed.  But the city was not a hub for the airlines that they were on.  So, they only had one flight a day.  By the time this couple would get to the airport the flight was sold.  I was advertising in Usa Today at the time (with an 800 number).  They called me.  I asked them where they had purchased the ticket, the replied “the internet”.   So I explained that when a ticket was purchased through a specific source that that source was where you had to go to fix it.  The source for them was the airline carrier!  But I did help them get on their way and they didn’t have to buy a new expensive ticket.  If you want to know more I can answer additional questions if you call us @ 1-800-656-7821.

2.     How does Airfare work?  It is like knowing when you have to fly “upside down..or backwards“.  It doesn’t seem to make any rhyme nor reason.  I had a customer call me  for a quote.  He said Southwest Airlines had a fare of $98.00 going from Salt Lake City, Utah to Boise, ID…but it was not available for the dates and times he and the other 7 men traveling with him, wanted to go….could I get it?  Not in your dreams!  Think about it?  But I was able to get all eight men on Delta Airlines for that $96.00 each.  He had a price from Delta Airlines of $146.00 each.  If you want to know more I can answer additional questions if you call us @ 1-800-656-7821.

Cheap hotels and their value!

As a travel agent people always ask what or where is a cheap hotel…Sioux Falls, Annaheim, Ca, Southbeach , Fl. New York, NY. Cancun, Mx..Any of all the Islands of Hawaii..including Oahu, Maui, Big Island, Kuaui...And I always say to them do you want cheap or do you want value?  In Hawaii…Oahu on the north shore…in Laie.  One hotel is about $100.00 a night but it has additional entertainment…as the gecko goes across the ceiling to get the roach.  The Hotel Turtle Bay, just a few miles from there can be as low as $125.00.  The Laie hotel is the cheapest but the Turtle Bay is the best value.  After all do you want to enjoy paradise or see the extra entertainment?  That’s why it’s good to get an agent who has traveled a bit!.

Just last week we had someone call us to get a Hotel in St George, Utah.  Some one we knew had recommended that he call us.  We discussed the pros and cons about the hotels that were available here in the office.  I called a great hotel that I knew the management at and he told me a hotel that I thought was not good had new owners and was actually pretty good.  So I went over to check it out.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I came back and called the customer but he had already gone on line and booked the cheapest hotel.  St George has 44 hotels and motels.  The hotel he booked on line was listed 44.  The customer stayed 1 night and came to the office to see if we could get him something else for the other two nights he planned on being there.  The reasonable hotel was no longer available.  So I called around and was able to get him into the Wyndham.  The cheap hotel was $79.00 a night including uninvited guests (roaches).  The Brand New Wyndham was $90.00 (with no additional guests! if you know what I mean).  If you have some place that you are looking for just call us @ 1-800656-7821
